Alex and Jessica hosted their intimate colorado campground wedding and it was a nature lovers PARADISE. From decorating the pavilion, having their guests camp on site and including camping chairs for there ceremony, these two pulled off a flawless handcrafted day and made it SO uniquely true to who they are. Keep reading to see the breakdown of their day was all about and where can find your perfect campground wedding site.
Alex and Jessica from the beginning knew they wanted something different for their wedding. The standard amphitheater rent-outs for ceremonies out in Colorado were not hitting the nail on the head. They love their home in Colorado and wanted to stay local, love the outdoors, concerts and love to go camping together. It became our mission to find something that would work for what fits them best. After lots of research between the three of us, Alex + Jessica landed on a campground in North Western Colorado that they HAD to have. The campground didn’t have much info online to whether or not they allowed weddings, let alone events. But after a couple phone calls, the campground said they would allow a small gathering on their property since they were able to rent the pavilion and snag some sites surrounding it.
The two of them, their guests and wedding party all arrived the day before their wedding to set up camp and decorate their reception and ceremony area. By the time i came the next day for wedding everything was up and ready to go! (Hell yeah for preparation. beats having to do everything in one day. Time is of the essence)The details this day were immaculate, from the picnic tables, dessert area, bar & smores area and their ceremony space.
Alex and Jessica’s ceremony was one of a kind in it’s own. They decided to be non-traditional badasses and do things a bit different and have a short ceremony with some reading and have private vows that weren’t in front of a crowd. They were barefoot and well as their wedding party, jessica’s daughter walk her down the aisle and her mother officiated their ceremony. They jumped over a broom stick to kinda “seal the deal” and walked over to a private foresty nook to say their vows to one another.
Although these two almost chose to elope, their people are whats most important to them. Their wedding party and guests had the party of the century. A camp out really brings the back-to-your-roots vibes and brings out the peaceful side in everyone.
To really give it them camping great outdoors feels, they celebrated with feeding each cake and kicking back with some music. Nothing fancy and elaborate, just simple like a real hang out. They ended their night sorrounded by a fire and through on their headlamps to sign their marriage license
